Course Aims and Overview

Suspended Worker Rescue Course

This course is designed to provide operatives with the knowledge and tools to safely access rescue requirements and perform a suspended rescue/ recovery.

Duration: 1 day.
Assessment: Oral questions throughout the course and a practical assessment.
Certification: Valid for 3 years.
Maximum number of delegates per course: 6

Venue Requirements

Room required with lighting and power connections, for projector, and seating for up to 6 delegates. Suitable practical area for live demonstrations and delegate practice.
Client to provide the rescue equipment for the Practical element of the course.

  • Introduction
  • An understanding of UK legislation including an overview of the Work at Height Regulations
  • Problems Associated with Safe Working at Heights
  • Employers / Employees Responsibility
  • Understand method for fitting, usage and inspection of equipment specified for this course
  • Outline the access procedures for portable ladders using the Level 2 ladder Safety system
  • Completion of a practical exercise comprising of, Maintenance and the correct fitting of the equipment and securing the ladder to the structure
  • Conducting a practical ladder exercise at height
  • Self-Rescue from Leaning Ladders

Delegate Requirements

All delegates must show proof of attending a basic Working @ Height course prior to attending this Course.

Hi vis vest, Gloves, Safety Boots, Full Body Harness (in-date), Pen.

Delegates are required to complete practical examination upon completion of the course. Delegates must be reasonably physically fit and able to work at heights.
